Shamantra Experience:

* Date: Sunday 3/15/2009
* 12 – 3:30 p.m.

Shamantra is a Nia based play shop developed by Saffire that is based on the fact that it has been scientifically proven that sounding and movement together is more healing than either by themselves. On this creative and playful percussive journey we will focus on expanding your personal power through the rhythmic connection you make with your body, mind, emotions and spirit. It is deep sacred play for adults, designed to help individuals remember the natural, joyous rhythms of their hearts and voice.

Nia Master Class:

* Date: Sunday 3/15/2009
* 4 – 5:30 p.m.

This is a wonderful opportunity to dance with a Nia master. The Nia Technique is a dynamic cardiovascular workout that stimulates and integrates the mind, body and spirit. It gives people of all ages and fitness levels tools to explore their own bodies and the ways they move. Through the practice of Nia’s time-tested technique, the body, mind, emotions, and spirit transform – changing and growing to reach the personal potential set by each individual. At its core, Nia is about expressing the joy of movement. Music from around the world invites you to explore the dynamic possibility of movement within your own body. Incorporating elements from the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts, Nia is dedicated to the physical and emotional spiral of the soulful freedom of movement inherent in every being.
