The Time For Kriya Yoga
Yoga Compassion
We know that we have all been shocked by what the world and by what Haiti has experienced in the past week. It is truly devastating. It is also a time for yogis to practice what we call Kriya Yoga, the yoga of action. It is a time to delve into our practice and to live our practice, offering compassion, love, and generosity.
In this light, we make an offering of our practice together: from January 14th through January 28th, the proceeds from Jo’s classes will be donated to World Concern (WorldConcern.org) and those from John’s classes will be donated to Partners in Health (standwithhaiti.org and pih.org).
World Concern is a nonprofit Jo has worked with for a number of years, that has a local office in Port-au-Prince. They are working tirelessly to aid people with rescue and recovery, and to spread the love and compassion with all in need at this time.
Partners in Health has worked in Haiti for over 20 years delivering healthcare to poor communities. They are on the ground delivering medical supplies, expanding medical services (in addition to their 9 hospitals in Haiti, they are setting up additional operating rooms for the catastrophe), and their doctors, nurses, and personnel are working fervently to save lives.
We would be humbled and honored to have you join us in this action.
Jo teaches Mondays at 8:15pm, Thursdays at 6:45pm, and Fridays at 5:30pm.
John teaches Tuesdays at 7:15pm and Thursdays at 9:15am. This week he will also teach Vinyasa II, Saturday at 11am.
